  • Loan Operations and Support (Full-time)

    First State Bank and Trust Company is currently seeking an individual to fill the role of Loan Operations Support. This position plays an essential role in the support of the Loan Department. This individual will work closely with all members of the Loan Department Staff to ensure compliance with all bank policy and regulations.

    The position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and one Saturday a month from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 1-year previous experience working in a professional office environment.
    • Proficient working knowledge of computer software and office equipment.
    • Must be extremely detail oriented with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with utmost accuracy in a fast paced environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle information in a confidential manner.

    Essential Functions:

    • Oversees the credit card program, including balancing, disputes, and maintaining new and current customer credit card accounts.
    • Be efficient in the Bank's loan origination and document software to ensure accurate loan documents.
    • Provide, as needed, support for commercial and other related loans.
    • Assist with loan department audit requests when applicable.
    • Process payoffs and lien releases in a timely manner.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
    • Process payments including filling out payment tickets and general ledger tickets accurately and neatly.
    • Receive telephone inquiries for payoffs, payments, and requests for interest for income tax purposes.
    • Provide support to Loan Officers and internal staff.
    • All other duties as assigned from time to time.

  • Teller - Walmart Office (Part-time)

    We are currently seeking a part-time teller to process customer transactions as requested and provide prompt, efficient and accurate customer service while representing the bank in a courteous, professional manner. As a teller you are responsible for balancing all financial transactions performed during the work shift. Tellers are cross-trained on opening new accounts once a mastery of teller skills has been demonstrated. This position plays an essential role in finding the right solutions to meet customers’ needs.

    Becoming a teller is a great way to get a glimpse into the broad world of finance and banking. Tellers project a professional image in dress, manner and communication and must also comply with all bank policy, regulations, and laws.

    The position is Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Open and maintain a cash drawer.
    • Process customer transactions, including receiving deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and issuing receipts, installment loan payments, making withdrawals, cashing checks, scanning work and providing customer account printouts and open new accounts.
    • Prepares cashier’s checks, money order’s, gift cards as requested.
    • Balances transactions at the end of the day and verifies cash totals.
    • And other miscellaneous duties as needed.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Basic understanding and the ability to operate various office equipment such as: Typewriter, Printers, Computers, Fax, Adding machine and Copy machine.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal/written).
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Excellent customer service skills.

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous sales and money handling experience preferred, but willing to train successful candidates.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
